Arthur Allen Gilmore

Cortland, Ohio - Arthur Allen Gilmore, age 81, died on Monday, April 9, 2018. He was born on May 5, 1936, a son of Florence Marie (Gastemire) and Lowell Luce Gilmore. Art was a 1954 graduate of Kenston High School in Bainbridge, Ohio. After high school Art served in the United States National Guard. The Gilmore family moved to Greenville, Pennsylvania in 1959. Art spent most of his life in the Greenville area until he moved to Salisbury, North Carolina area spending around fifteen years down south. He was a great mechanic and worked on many local farms, fixing most anything as well as helping with the farming. Art loved stock car racing and was involved in racing for more than fifty years of his life, working for many different drivers. Art is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Alvin Gilmore and a niece, Patricia Gilmore. Survivors include his brother, John C. (Sharyn McCallion) Gilmore and his nephew, Brian Gilmore both of Greenville, Pennsylvania. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 2:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rock Ridge Cemetery, Greenville, Pennsylvania.
