Danford Lee Strang

Danford Lee "Dan the Man" Strang, age 71, of Williamsfield, OH, died Thursday, December 1, 2016, at his home. He was born March 23, 1945 in Painesville,OH, a son of Mahlon C. and Lois (Campbell) Strang. A lifetime area resident, Dan attended Jefferson Area Schools. He was formerly employed by Pymatuning State Park; and was a lifetime member of the Ashtabula County Antique Engine Club where he was the flea market coordinator. He loved old cars and Speedex tractors. He is survived by his 9 children, Mary Ann VanWinkle of Painesville, OH, Dorene (Mark) Aubel of Williamsfield, OH, Howard (Alberta) Strang of Garrettsville, OH, Mindy (Danny) Metz of Andover,OH, Teresa (Roger) Dean of Dorset, OH, William (Melissa) Strang of Andover,OH, Wally (Crystal) Strang of Williamsfield, OH, Susan (Ricky) DeBolt of Williamsfield,OH, and John Strang of Williamsfield,OH; his estranged wife, Donna Strang of Conneaut,OH; his step daughter, Dora Lee Ramey of Conneaut,OH; 16 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his dog "Megan". He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Mahlon Lee Strang; 3 grandsons, Brandon VanWinkle, Brayden and Rylan Strang; 1 granddaughter, Nicole DeBolt; 3 brothers, Mahlon "Bud" Strang, Lynn Strang, and Dean Strang; and 1 sister, Susan Fink. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016, at 5:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church, 181 S. Main St., Andover,OH.
