Paul A. Zidonis

Paul A. Zidonis, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, April 23, 2015. Paul was born August 14, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Chalker High School in 1959 and has been a resident of Mecca since 1968. Paul served in the United States Army from 1959 until 1965 and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his service in the U.S. Army, Paul was employed by United Airlines for 32 years and retired in 1996. He faithfully attended Rock of Grace Family Ministries in Kinsman, Ohio. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed going hunting and fishing with his friends. Paul was affectionately known as "Zeke" or "PZ" by his friends and coworkers. Paul was an active member of the American Legion and the Cortland Moose Chapter #1012 since 1992 and a lifetime member of the North American Fishing Club. He was also a charter member of the National D-Day Museum. Paul is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Dittrich) Zidonis, for which they spent 54 wonderful years of marriage together; three daughters, Andrea (Randy) Partridge of Mecca, Janine (Bill) Horner of Mecca, and Paula Zidonis of Southington; four grandchildren, Lauren (Scott) Gibbs, Jarrett Partridge, Brooke Horner,and Taylor Horner. Paul was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he deeply loved his family. A memorial service, with full military honors, will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 11:00 AM at the Rock of Grace Family Ministries Church, 6745 St. Rt. 5, Kinsman,OH 44428, with Pastor Mark Biel officiating. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. A private interment will take place at a later date in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Rock of Grace Family Ministries.
