Grover G. McAllister

Grover G. McAllister, age 83, of Greenville, PA, died Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at St. Paul Homes. He was born February 26, 1933, in Bobtown, PA, a son of John and Laura (Fosbrink) McAllister. Formerly of McKeesport, PA, Mr. McAllister was a graduate of Point Marion High School in Point Marion, PA. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as supervisor for U.S. Steel in Duquesne, PA, retiring in 1984. Mr. McAllister was a member of the Liberty Presbyterian Church in McKeesport, PA. He had his pilot license and owned his own plane. He loved to fix things, go camping, and square dancing. He is survived by his wife, Elaine (Herrington) McAllister, whom he married September 26, 1953, of Greenville, PA; his son, Keith A. (Irene) McAllister of Monaca, PA; his daughter, Karen A. (Jason) Niciu of Andover,OH; his daughter-in-law, Judy McAllister of Canonsburg, PA; his 9 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Richard McAllister in 2015; and his brother, Fred McAllister. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 1:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH. A private burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery in Andover. Calling hours will be on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
