Jamaica A.L. Jones

Jamaica A.L. "Nuk Nuk" Jones, age 10, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018, at the UH Andover Medical Center. She was born August 8, 2008, in Ashtabula, OH, a daughter of Lamarr L. Jones and Jori L. (Cunningham) Jones. A lifetime area resident, Jamaica was a 4th grade student at Pymatuning Valley Primary School. She was active as a Little Laker Cheerleader and also as a competition cheerleader for the Dream Team. Jamaica competed in many pageant competitions and was crowned "Little Miss Pymatuning" in 2016-17. She earned many other pageant titles in competitions held in Ohio and elsewhere. Jamaica enjoyed basketball, singing, drawing, and writing stories; and she loved to collect owls. She attended the Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene and the Cherry Valley Church of God; and also attended the Awana program at the Andover Christian Church. Jamaica is survived by her parents, Lamarr L. and Jori L. Jones of Cherry Valley township, OH; brother, Shaakighe, brother, Zanighe, sister, JoriAhwna, sister, Jazzoreigh, sister, Ja'Kyrah, sister, Ja'Zyla, brother, Jazighe; her grandparents, Amanda and Michael Cunningham of Williamsfield, OH, Burke T. Cunningham of Andover, OH, and Harvey and Ann-Marie Jones of Ashtabula, OH; her great grandparents, Grace Cunningham of Andover,OH, Dorothy Opat of Williamsfield, OH, and Madlin Martin of Cleveland,OH; uncles, Michael J. Cunningham, Joshua Cunningham, Jonathan Cunningham, Marcus Cunningham, and Michael Ivy; aunts, Lexis Cunningham, and Victoria Jones; and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her great grandfather, Burke Cunningham, Sr. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, August 28th from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover,OH. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM at the funeral home on Tuesday.
