Colleen Frances Hartman

July 15, 1937 — January 18, 2024

Gustavus, Ohio

Gustavus, Ohio - Colleen Frances (Morse) Hartman, age 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, with her family by her side, on Thursday, January 18, 2024, following a brief illness. She was born on July 15, 1937, in Geneva, Ohio, the daughter of Ernest Franz and Julia Avis (Rogers) Morse, the third of ten children.
A lifelong resident of Gustavus Township, Colleen was a 1955 graduate of Gustavus High School. On October 25, 1958, she married the love of her life, Richard Andrew Hartman. They celebrated sixty-five wonderful years of marriage before his passing on December 23, 2023. Colleen retired as the clerk of Gustavus Township after thirty-two years of faithful service. She was a member of the Gustavus Federated Church. Colleen's relationship with the Lord was most important to her.
In her younger years, Colleen enjoyed gardening, canning produce, family vacations, and dancing. She was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren, faithfully attending their many activities and events. Colleen enjoyed doing word search puzzles, listening to music, and spending time with her family, always reminding them of how much she loved them.
She is survived by her son, Richard (Tina) Hartman, Jr. of Johnston, Ohio; her daughter, Renee (Milford "Junior") Battison of Cortland, Ohio; six grandchildren, Bryan (LeeAnn) Cupp, Jeremy (Sylvia) Cupp, Alyssa (Mark) Tedford, Kayleigh (Matthew) Galpin, Wyatt (Bre) Hartman, and Marcus Cupp; seven great-grandchildren, Callum, Arlis, and Maren Tedford, Olivia, Evelyn, and Caleb Cupp, and Benjamin Cupp; a brother, Franz Morse of Easley, South Carolina; two sisters, Susan Wolford of Hubbard, Ohio and Julie Morse of Kinsman, Ohio; as well as other family members and in-laws.
Colleen is preceded in death by her beloved husband; parents; a brother, Ernest Morse; five sisters, Nettie Fetters, Almedah Evans, Mary Clay, Bessie Siekkinen, and Frances Hindes; and other family members and in-laws.
The family would like to thank Clearview Lantern Suites and the sixth-floor staff at St. Joseph Hospital for their excellent care.
Per Colleen's wishes there will be no calling hours. A private family service will be held and burial will be in Gustavus Cemetery. Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service of Kinsman, Ohio, handled the arrangements. Share a fond memory or condolence at www.baumgardnerfuneralhome.com
