Emerson "Jack" Bridle, 83 years old, of Andover, Ohio, died on Thursday, January 20, 2005, at his daughter's home in Bazetta Township, Ohio. Mr. Bridle was born on February 6, 1921, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late John and Hulda Bridle. Formerly of Cleveland, Mr. Bridle was a long time Andover resident. He was a World War II veteran, having served the the United States Army, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant and receiving the Good Conduct and Victory medals. Mr. Bridle was a member of the VFW Post #9519, Andover, and a former member of the American Legion in Linesville, PA. He enjoyed fishing and doing yard work. Mr. Bridle was employed by Pymatuing State Park for 15 years. Prior to that, he was part owner and operator of "Gordon's Automotive" in Cleveland for 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 daughters, Ona Jarvorsky, Merri Jo Scrant, Elaine "Jackie" Webker; a step son, Johnnie Walker; 2 brothers, Elwood Bridle and Eugene Bridle, who died in World War II and was missing in action and never found. He is survived by his wife, Cora E. (Pope) Bridle of Andover, OH; his daughter, Honey Smith of Lakewood, OH; daughter, Sandy Norton of Orwell, OH; daughter, Glenda Sue Boyer of Illinois; daughter, Lynda Gray Patterson of Bazetta Township, OH; brother, Bill (Pat) Bridle of Parma, OH; granddaughter, Paula (Walter) Shelar of Cortland, OH; granddaughter, Becky Gregor of Howland, OH; grandsons, Adam and Bill Webker of Andover, OH; grandson, David Gregor, Jr. of Arizona; grandson, Christopher (Debi) Gregor of Liberty, OH; granddaughters, Dawn and Rhonda of Illinois; and many great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2005, at 1p.m. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Andover. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 11:00a.m. until the time of service at 1p.m. All monetary contributions will be made to Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
