Harriett S. Groff

Harriett S. Groff, of 6446 Hawthorne Drive, Andover, Ohio, died at Andover Village Retirement Community, on December 11, 2003. She was born on May 8, 1922 in Cazenovia, New York, to Raymond J. and Mary (Hyatt) Stanley. Formerly of Rome, NY, Mrs. Groff was an Andover resident since 1994. She was a 1940 graduate of Rome Free Academy. Mrs. Groff was a supervisor at the New York Telephone Company for over 34 years, retiring in 1977. On January 13, 1945 she married William S. Groff. Mrs. Groff was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rome NY, and of the Wanekena Chapter #650 of Eastern Star. She enjoyed doing crafts. Mrs. Groff is preceded in death by 2 brothers Harold J. and Seward H. Stanley, and one sister Florence Lee. She is survived by her Husband, a son William J. Groff of Andover, granddaughters Jennifer Seyler and Kelley Groff and grandson Timothy Groff and 4 Great Grandchildren. Burial of cremated remains will be in Rome City Cemetery, Rome NY.
