Patricia A. Jeffers

Patricia A. Jeffers, 74 years old, of Kinsman, Ohio, died on Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren, Ohio. Patricia was born on May 4, 1929, in Gustavus to the late Victor H. Logan and the late Clara M. Switzer. A life long Gustavus resident, Mrs. Jeffers was a 1947 graduate of Gustavus High School. She received a BS in Education from Youngstown State University, graduating in 1969. Mrs. Jeffers taught 2nd and 3rd grade for Cortland Elementary School for 23 years and retired in 1992. She authored, The "Barns of Gustavus" as well as many poems. She was a member of the Gustavus Federated Church where she sang in the choir and was the church historian. Mrs. Jeffers was a member of the Gustavus Grange #1417, Gustavus Community Aid, and the Gustavus U & I Literary Club. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed gardening, playing piano and tutoring children in the summer. She married Robert P. Jeffers on September 17, 1949. She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Victor and John Logan. She is survived by her husband, Robert P. Jeffers of Gustavus, OH; her three daughters, Susan J. (Scott) Gray of South Euclid, OH; Judith J. (Douglas) Harnett of Transfer, PA; Cynthia J. (Richard) Stevens of Kinsman, OH; her son, Robert L. (Victoria) Jeffers of Gustavus, OH; her three sisters, Alice Blaemire of Kinsman, OH; Eleanor Brown of Kinsman, OH; Lucille Cole of Williamsfield, OH; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Monday, March 15, 2004, at 11:00a.m. at Gustavus Federated Church, 8850 State Rt. 193, Gustavus, OH, with Reverend Steven W. Trimble officiating. Burial will follow in Gustavus Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2004, from 2 until 4pm and from 6 until 8pm at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church at 8850 St. Rt. 193, Farmdale, OH 44417
